A Rose By Any Other Name?

I absolutely love roses! The bigger and brighter the better.

image

This one’s a little on the dinky size, but I still love the color, the fresh smell, the soft petals. I’m a sucker for pretty flowers, what can I say?

image

But there’s a Rose much sweeter…

image

Far greater…

image

And about an infinite amount of times brighter to be seen.

image

What Rose is this?

image

This Rose is Jesus.

image

Only He’s not just a Rose. That’s such a weak word to describe Him.

image

He’s also the Lion…

image

And the Lamb.

image

The Good Shepherd…

image

And the Door.

image

He Himself said that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

image

He is the Prince of Peace.

image

The King of kings, and Lord of lords.

image

He’s the Conquering Seed, the Promised One, the Messiah, the Christ, the Savior.

image

The very Son of God, given up to suffer and die for sinful man, that they may live and enjoy Him forever.

image

Wonderful Counselor, the Risen One, Heaven’s Champion, the Resurrection and the Life, the Bread of Life, the Light of the World, the Gate, the True Vine, the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last, and even the name of God: the Great “I AM”.

image

“Crucified, laid behind a stone. Lived to die; rejected and alone. Like a Rose, trampled on the ground. He took the fall. And thought of me, above all” -Above All by Paul Baloche

image

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” -John 3:16

Jesus is the name above all other names. But to describe Him– there are not enough names to even begin to say. More beautiful than a rose, stronger than a lion, spotless as a lamb,…He is my Lord.
